The Sylhet MAG Osmani Medical Hospital (SOMCH), designated as Site Number 003 for the NIHR Methanol POC Trial, operates its trial activities from the dedicated Research Room in Ward 40 on the 8th floor of the new medicine building. The site is led by Principal Investigator Prof. Dr. Shishir Ranjan Chakraborty, with Prof. Dr. Muhammad Hezbullah, Dr. Nahida Zafrin, Dr. Soumitra Roy, Dr. Mohammed Ruhul Kabir, and Dr. Tanvir Mohith serving as Co-Investigators. Regulatory and operational milestones include BMRC approval on 28 January 2025, DGDA approval on 6 February 2025, SOMCH Ethics Committee approval on 31 August 2024, and official site activation (SATO) on 17 July 2025, coinciding with the commencement of work by the Clinical Research Assistants (CRAs) and Clinical Research Nurses (CRNs). The dedicated site team comprises Site Trial Coordinator Abdul Mahib Tanvir, Clinical Research Assistant Dr. Sharmen Islam Tonny, and Clinical Research Nurses Jutika Rani Das and Songita Paul Akhi.
