Dr. Abdullah Abu Sayeed
Dr. Abdullah Abu Sayeed, an Assistant Professor at Chittagong Medical College, Chattogram, Bangladesh, brings a wealth of expertise in Internal Medicine, Infectious Disease, and Poisoning. Graduating with an MBBS from Sylhet M.A.G Osmani Medical College in 2000, he later earned an MD in Internal Medicine from Chittagong Medical College in 2009.
Dr. Abu Sayeed's academic journey includes a diverse range of training experiences. His one-year internship in Medicine and Surgery at Sylhet M.A.G Osmani Medical College laid the foundation for his medical career. Subsequently, he underwent post-graduation training at different institutions, including BSMMU in Dhaka. The culmination of his academic pursuits was a three-year post-graduation training in Medicine at Chittagong Medical College Hospital, where he completed a thesis on Malarial Retinopathy, published in a peer-reviewed journal in 2011.
Dr. Abu Sayeed actively contributes to research, participating in clinical studies on Malaria with the Mahidol Oxford Research Unit and serving as a co-investigator in the Development and Application of immune chromatographic rapid diagnostic tests for Asian Cobra Snake Bites: Bangladesh-Taiwan Cooperation Study. His current involvement extends to the CCBOC Trial, investigating calcium channel blockade for pesticide poisoning.
With a broad subject interest that spans Internal Medicine, Infectious Disease, and Poisoning, Dr. Abu Sayeed focuses on critical health issues, including Malaria, Kalaazar, Tuberculosis, Leptospirosis, Occupational poisoning, OPC, and Snake bites. Beyond his role as an Assistant Professor, he serves as the Organizing Secretary of the Toxicology Society of Bangladesh. Dr. Abu Sayeed's commitment to advancing medical knowledge and addressing health challenges reflects his dedication to the well-being of his community and beyond.
